Common Myths about Corona virus.

Coronavirus; it's a hot topic these days as it is being transmitted at a very rapid and extremely fast rate.

Here are some MYTHS that are common about Coronavirus:

1. It spreads only by physical contact with the Chinese people:

The Coronavirus or SARS-CoV-2 indeed emerged from Wuhan, a city of China and it proved deadly to the Chinese people but it's a myth that only, Chinese in the entire world have this virus. What about those people who don't even live in China or Wuhan, ut are Chinese?. Would they still have the virus?. Definitely not.

2. Wearing masks can prevent one from contracting the virus: This one is a BIG myth about the virus. Every second person seems to believe that wearing masks is a great way of preventing the virus even if it's a thin piece of cloth.

It's just for preventing the face from your hands when you're outside and you touch an object. Because it spreads through the contact of your hands with your eyes, nose, or mouth.

3. The virus transmits from the products brought or shipped by China: This myth has scared everyone that if you receive any package or product from China, it would have the virus.

This myth is due to misinformation. The truth is that the virus can't stay much longer on surfaces. It cannot survive on any surface for a much longer period.

4. Vaccines against the virus have been discovered: This Corona outbreak has already frightened people so much that now there are a lot of misreports about it. Each day, wrong or misinformation circulates on the internet.

One of those misleading information is that vaccines are available for the treatment and cure of the virus. This is not true but scientists are still working on it.

5. Coronavirus spreads from animals or pets?: While the world is having a hard time with this deadly virus, which in most cases spreads by humans, there is a myth that the virus also spreads from animals, especially bats. The myth was, that the virus broke out from a person who ate bats. But seriously, who EATS bats?. Our main concern should be with domesticated animals or pets. And the answer to this myth is probably that they surely won't have the virus only if their owner won't have the virus. That makes a lot of sense because the animals are also likely to get infected by it. BUT no animal can develop the virus itself.

7. The virus dies at hot temperatures: As this virus arose from China in December, the coldest month, it is believed that it became more powerful and severe in winter and that it would definitely not survive in higher temperatures. But this is just a myth as there is no experimental proof of this myth. However, the virus might lose its virulence due to high temperature. BUT, again there is no evidence of this fact.

8. Only old people and kids are likely to acquire the virus: Not only kids and old people but also those who have a weak immune system are most likely to get infected by the virus. This virus is much deadly that even those people who had a strong immune system were not able to fight it. So each and every living being is at risk right now. Each person has an equal chance of acquiring the virus, whether healthy or unhealthy or of any age.

Always remember that staying home is going to save many lives. Stay home. Stay safe.
