Arfa Karim’s Biography

•  Birth and Parentage

Arfa Karim was born in a village of Faisalabad named Ram Dewali, Pakistan. She was born on the 2nd of February, in the year 1995. Her honorable father’s name is Amjad Abdul Karim Randhawa and her respectable mother’s name is Samina Amjad Karim.

• Education and Achievement

Arfa studied in Lahore Grammar School. At the age of nine, she did something that was record-worthy. That fantastic achievement of her is nothing but becoming an MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional). The record-worthy thing here is that she did all this at the age of nine. This is quite an astonishing accomplishment. 

• Recognition 

As this outstanding attainment of hers was so unique, in July 2005, on the invitation of Microsoft Corporation, she visited the United States. Bill Gates, co-founder of the Microsoft Corporation met Arfa Karim. At that venerable moment, Bill Gates awarded Arfa the Certified Microsoft Application certificate.

• Career

Arfa had an interest in the computer technology field from the beginning of her life. It was because of this interest of her that she served so much to IT (Information Technology). Her achievements in the development of the IT sector of the country is indelible. The late Arfa Karim was to be the bright future of Pakistan. Because she did something on which many do full life work. It was an extraordinary accomplishment of hers.

• Made the country proud 

After she visited the Microsoft Corporation, Arfa started to gain more recognition. Respectable Arfa represented our country, Pakistan, on International forums. She was also invited by the Pakistan Information Technology Professionals Forum to stay for two weeks in Dubai. In November 2006, Arfa visited Barcelona to attend the event named Tech-Ed Developers Conference. She attended that event on the invitation from Microsoft Corporation. In that conference, she was the only shining Pakistani among 5000 developers. 

• Arfa’s Death

While Arfa was busy making the country proud, her life took a sudden turn. On the 22nd of December 2011, Arfa had a cardiac arrest which is the abrupt loss of heart function in a person who may or may not has been diagnosed with heart disease. It can come on suddenly, or due to some other symptoms as well. She had cardiac arrest followed by epileptic seizures which are the result of a neurological disorder that causes abnormal brain functions. She suffered so much. She was admitted to a Combined Military Hospital in Lahore. Bill Gates also offered for her treatment but due to her critical condition, she was advised not to travel. On the 13th of January, Arfa showed some signs of recovery and improvement. But unfortunately, her life ended on the 14th of January 2012, at the age of 16. May her soul rest in peace. Ameen.
